SKADE administrative update

As the evolution of SKADE continues we are now finally ready to implement our first administrative changes. The time has come to help tune people into the roles where they excel at their tasks and thrive to continue our growth.

Firstly, we have a new CEO in place as Morten Skaland steps up to the task. Morten is a hungry and driven 23-year-old hunter. He is fresh out of his bachelor studies at BI Norwegian Business school. Even though he is fresh out of school he already has two years working in the Norwegian agency for public and financial management and he is about to journey into a master’s in business administration. With this hungry hunter in the administrative seat, we will be running a tight pack and he will build structure where needed.

I am humble and motivated to take on the task to lead this organization. Skade has shown incredible growth lately, in this up and coming industry. We have a strong team, and together we are going to keep on developing and taking Skade to new heights.

– CEO, Morten Skaland

Just as importantly we have now found our new (and first) CMO in Cornelius Hjort. Cornelius is a 25-year-old hunter and comes from Oslo, Norway. Cornelius is educated within ICT and engineering at the Norwegian university of science and technology and business at BI Norwegian business school. Cornelius’ marketing experience comes from his job at Red Bull where Cornelius works with marketing, mainly towards students at Norwegian universities, but also with festivals and sporting events. One initiative Cornelius has gained experience from the esports industry is the global Valorant tournament Red Bull Campus Clutch.

Esports was in many ways something completely new for me when we embarked on this endeavor. It was not long before I realized the enormous potential esports holds in general, and SKADE in particular. I look immensely towards getting to know all of you and together hunt for glory on the quest to make SKADE the next major house globally

– CMO, Cornelius Hjort

These two amazing additions there will also be changes for our former CEO, Kim-Erik “Zarotan” Aanes. He now goes fully into the role as founder where he will help develop the totality of SKADE as a brand. More importantly he will also take on the role as Head of esports, a role he has had as a sidenote to everything else so far. Now that he can dedicate his full attention to this role the sky is the limit for our teams. Expect to see updates from us with new ideas, new game titles and innovation on many levels.

I am super excited to finally be able to turn my focus 100% to what I have always had a goal of working with. I’ve already managed to establish a proven track record in terms of drafting teams, players and getting to where we want. Now I can focus on taking it to the next level and continue building the dream organization we set out to create when we first started.

– Founder, Kim-Erik “Zarotan” Aanes

We are back in ESEA Premier!!

After only one season in ESEA Advanced we are once again ready for Premier!!

We were fortunate enough to find a way back into ESEA Advanced after the disastrous ruling that cost us our MDL spot two seasons ago. There was however no doubt that the guys deserved to play on a higher level.

With a main season ending in a 12 – 4 score in matches we secured our spot in the playoffs. As we ventured into the playoffs we did not get the start we had planned for and took a hit against bankaPEPSI. This took us to the lower bracket, but they guys were hungry and fought their way back up and secured relegation matches. They even got payback against bankaPEPSI on their way there.

As we learned who the teams in the relegation matches would be, the preperations started. And it quickly became clear to anyone watching that the guys had no plans what so ever of losing. With a clean sweep going 2 – 0 against both APEKS and Sprout the boys are now back!!

Now the journey to the next level can start and the idea is to reproduce our amazing run from MDL, before things turned out the way they did.

“Being back in Premier just after one season of advanced feels great. We all were very motivated to get back into premier after getting disqualified insubstantially. Hope we can show great results in the next season and maybe even qualify for pro league!” – Viktor “Duplicate” Mitev

“Were so happy that we managed to gain our slot in ESEA Premier after only 1 season in Advanced. All the players put everything on the table for this relegation tournament and we showed that in the server. Both games vs Apeks and Sprout we had full control on the match even when we were in very bad position on dust2 vs Sprout. Its very important for the team and our organization to put 1 more tournament like ESEA Premier in our tournament list for our 2nd season this year. After the break we will try to keep improving and getting better and better. We will show our capacity as a team. Thank you to everyone who supported us in the bad/sad situation for the team and players. #LetsHunt “ – Nikolay “pNshr” Paunin

June brings SKADE to new heights!

As we are still trying to land on our feet after all the moments June brought us, we are already well into July. What did June bring? Just our biggest tournament win to date, our first MAJOR and our social media reach went trough the roof!!

I’ll try to summarize it all up in a quick note as always, but SKADE has A LOT going on!

Fan Engagement

Well, it turns out taking part in a Major brings in a few viewers 😉 We were on fire in all 3 of our main esports titles and that really showed in our stats. With an estimated 8.000.000+ unique viewers in our matches on twitch in June we DESTROYED our old record :O This gives us valuable information to work with towards our future tournaments. Having documented numbers to show sponsors/partners is a completely different game than just guessing or trying to make estimations.

Esports

So, that major I mentioned? Our PUBG squad made their way into PUBG Continental Series 4: Europe and with that our first ever major was secured. Not only did they make it there, they landed a 7th place finish and secured some nice money, but more importantly they got more PGI points!!

Only four tournaments in 2021 will give points towards PUBG Global Invitational and we have made it into and gotten points from both so far. July brings the 3rd one and we aim to be there as well!

That’s not all for the PUBG squad tho. June also brought the final rounds of Frag League Season 6 and the boys locked in a 2nd place finish here as well 😉

The PUBG squad was not the only SKADE squad with a big month. The CS:GO squad were in the final stages of REPUBLEAGUE Season 1 and they were hungry for another tournament victory. In the grand final we ran into the Portuguese powerhouse SAW. With a 1 map lead from winning the upper bracket, our boys came into the final with confidence and in a dominant fashion we took the final 3 – 0!!

This landed us the biggest prize winning we have had in our short journey and a nice bonus for our guys as we approach the player holidays in mid, July. Not only that, we finally get one of those epic looking trophies for our trophy wall 😉

SKADE

Esport never sleeps and the same seems to be the rule for the staff of SKADE. We have been hard at work securing new partnerships and strategic partners. During the player break next month we are excited to announce the first two of these. We have set a goal of always doing a bit more than expected from us and that means putting in a bit more work than most.

“We have a fantastic team, and it really shows. The stuff going on behind the scenes here is nothing short of amazing! And knowing what resources we have compared to our competition; it blows my mind. Even tho summer holidays have hit here in Norway, people are working every available moment and it inspires and energizes me!” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes
