In a period where we have announced several departures, it is now time to bring someone new to the pack.
With this in mind we are happy to present you all with the latest addition to our COD Mobile pack, Danilo “Mihawk” Kim!!
We have been searching for a new fifth for quite some time now, even before COD Worlds. Now that worlds is done with and the roster changes are happening we had the opportunity to sign with Mihawk, who we think is the perfect match for our squad.
He has shown what he can do in the role as captain for Godsent and there is no doubt he has the firepower to be one of the greatest. As a player known for intelligent plays, we are confident that he can bring a lot to the table now as we partner him up with our own professor of COD, Palitao.
“It’s been a long and detailed process trying to find a good match for our sqaud with long term goals in mind. We are on a quest to not only build on what we have started, as the best team in LATAM. But also towards becoming the best in the world. Danilo “Mihawk” Kim seems like a perfect fit to that puzzle.” – Kim-Erik “ZarotaN” Aanes, Head of esports
“Having been their main rival for two years as their opponent’s captain. I’m now a part of this team! It feels like now the main strengths from each side are all gathered together. I hope that I can turn out to be the greatest addition to this team! I’ll do my best as I’ve always done, to be #1 at any cost.” – Danilo ” Mihawk” Kim
In January the work starts and people will see our new squad in action towards the end of the month. We plan to hit 2022 with as much impact as an avalanche set of by Skaði herself!! #LetsHunt
After a successful World Championship campaign with the hunters, Miguel “Migueliz” Carvalho will be leaving SKADE to explore new opportunities in his career.
While the squad left their mark at the COD Mobile World Championship 2021, it’s time for us to head to a new direction.
Joining in the squad as a slayer/support before the World Championship 2021 Qualifiers began, he quickly cemented himself as one of the best and most flexible players in the region. Known for his aggressive fragging even during tight situations while flexing to multiple roles, he leaves behind a legacy COD: Mobile – World Championship 2021 & the LATAM Qualifiers.
“Miguel came in late in the world qualifiers for us and really showed a heroic performance. He flew out to bootcamp with the squad on short notice and managed to have a big impact on several qualifier matches. As the time now has come for him to explore new opportunities i hope that he finds a great group to play with.” – Kim-Erik “ZarotaN” Aanes, Head of Esports.
He quickly became a fan favourite once his bubbly personality got out. Never afraid to show his emotions on stage or his opinions Migueliz has garnered a legion of fans throughout his career and he will surely continue to do so.
Tomorrow we start our journey in the biggest event to date for SKADE! The Call Of Duty®: Mobile World Championship 2021 goes live and we take on the best teams in the world to crown the ultimate champion.
The event coverage will be live Saturday from 16:00 CET on the official Youtube channel for CoD Mobile esports.
Due to the covid situation in the world the tournament has been split in two different regions and our squad will play the LATAM, NA and EU division. Where we will take on giants such as GODSENT, NAVI, Tribal and Full House.
The guys have been preparing for months and the weeks prior to this event they had an amazing bootcamp. They are fit for fight and ready to show everyone what they got. Mobile esports has exploded and this is your chance to watch the best of the best in action. Tune in and get ready to be amazed.
After an incredible weekend our amazing Call of Duty Mobile squad can claim their title as Brazil’s number one team and gear up for worlds!
For the past month the guys have been bootcamping to make sure they were as ready as could be for the final stage of the qualifiers. During the camp they have shown impressive form and as the main event came close there seemed to be no stopping them.
As the qualifier started it quickly became clear for anyone watching that the guys were as hungry as they seemed. After 3 solid matches the guys won the upper bracket and with that they had already secured their spot in Worlds. The grand final brought them the only loss they had in the qualifier as they fell to the Mexican powerhouse that is Zygnus esports.
As we are still trying to land on our feet after all the moments June brought us, we are already well into July. What did June bring? Just our biggest tournament win to date, our first MAJOR and our social media reach went trough the roof!!
I’ll try to summarize it all up in a quick note as always, but SKADE has A LOT going on!
Well, it turns out taking part in a Major brings in a few viewers 😉 We were on fire in all 3 of our main esports titles and that really showed in our stats. With an estimated 8.000.000+ unique viewers in our matches on twitch in June we DESTROYED our old record :O This gives us valuable information to work with towards our future tournaments. Having documented numbers to show sponsors/partners is a completely different game than just guessing or trying to make estimations.
So, that major I mentioned? Our PUBG squad made their way into PUBG Continental Series 4: Europe and with that our first ever major was secured. Not only did they make it there, they landed a 7th place finish and secured some nice money, but more importantly they got more PGI points!!
Only four tournaments in 2021 will give points towards PUBG Global Invitational and we have made it into and gotten points from both so far. July brings the 3rd one and we aim to be there as well!
That’s not all for the PUBG squad tho. June also brought the final rounds of Frag League Season 6 and the boys locked in a 2nd place finish here as well 😉
The PUBG squad was not the only SKADE squad with a big month. The CS:GO squad were in the final stages of REPUBLEAGUE Season 1 and they were hungry for another tournament victory. In the grand final we ran into the Portuguese powerhouse SAW. With a 1 map lead from winning the upper bracket, our boys came into the final with confidence and in a dominant fashion we took the final 3 – 0!!
This landed us the biggest prize winning we have had in our short journey and a nice bonus for our guys as we approach the player holidays in mid, July. Not only that, we finally get one of those epic looking trophies for our trophy wall 😉
Esport never sleeps and the same seems to be the rule for the staff of SKADE. We have been hard at work securing new partnerships and strategic partners. During the player break next month we are excited to announce the first two of these. We have set a goal of always doing a bit more than expected from us and that means putting in a bit more work than most.
“We have a fantastic team, and it really shows. The stuff going on behind the scenes here is nothing short of amazing! And knowing what resources we have compared to our competition; it blows my mind. Even tho summer holidays have hit here in Norway, people are working every available moment and it inspires and energizes me!” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes
May was a much-needed month for us in SKADE as many tournaments were running early stages and we were invited directly to the later stages. Meaning we had a lot fewer matches this month than we normally do. So that allowed for us in management to finally catch up on a few things, bring in new crew and close out some partnerships.
With more time to focus on what actually matters to us, our fans, and the people we engage with. We came up with tons of ideas for the time to come and people can expect to see new content popping up all over the place. One important part of what is to come is a new partnership with one of the biggest tournament platforms there is Challengermode. Together we Challengermode we now have our own landing page on their platform where we will start hosting community and fan driven tournaments. This is also a big part of our future plans for expansion into new game titles. With almost half the tournament/match activity of a normal month we still managed to reach our social media goals and the growth of 2021 continues!!
Did I mention we had fewer matches? Well, we had some BIG ones!!! In CS:GO we had another amazing run, the PUBG squad showed what they were made of and in COD Mobile the qualifiers for COD Worlds are live!
We started the CS:GO month with winning another tournament as we were crowned the champions of European Development Championship #3 on May 2nd!! We continued the month with taking down some of the biggest names in Europe. On May 17th we hit a new ALL TIME HIGH as we were placed at rank #18 in the world by HLTV. 😉
Our PUBG squad was ready to show what they were made of as the qualifier for this years first Major came to and end. They secured a really solid 3rd place finish in the EU qualifier and with that their spot in the PUBG Continental Series #4!! Oh, and they are currently sitting in 2nd place in Frag League Season 6 as well!! June will be packed with action on the highest level there is for these guys!
The COD squad is pretty much destroying anything that gets in their way these days! With a 38 – 12 match records in May where they won two tournaments, finished 2nd in two AND made a clean sweep in the first round of the qualifier for COD World Championships, we are all left in awe!! The mobile esports scene is blowing up and Call of Duty will surely be a main title there for years to come. We are proud to be a part of this journey and we can’t wait to see what’s to come next.
With last month being huge for us as we were able to bring in four new staff members, May was looking great even before it started! With the addition of new staff we were able to take our administrative work to a whole new level. New partnerships that will be announced in short succession have already been made. New strategic plans have been set into motion and we are making moves that we hope can elevate Norwegian e-sports to the next level!
With new staff in place, I have also been able to tune my focus back to where I have my main skills. The esports side of operations and I am already cooking together plans for our next moves AND getting ready to take our current activities to a new level.
“Time is a luxury in any startup and with new co-workers in place I am finally able to use my time in a more effective way. With a bigger team comes more motivation, more energy and capability to activate more plans. Our team is bursting with energy now and there is no stopping this train now! We are our for new prey and the hunt has just started!!” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes
Having a goal of doing a monthly writeup is a great push for me to take some time to reflect on how amazing this journey is! We have so many things going on at all times and it is easy to forget how much we have done in this short time. I finally decided to sit myself down, breathe and really reflect on what the past month has been like. HOLY SHIT! Everyone in SKADE truly do amazing things!
So what was April like for SKADE? Check this out!
What a month we had! We started the month with a lot of hype coming over from March and it everyone was pumped and ready to put some effort into social media. The fact that we continued to kick ass in CS:GO, PUBG AND CoD Mobile sure did it’s part.
We continue to explore the mobile gaming industry in Brazil and our biggest move on that front was in social media where we landed our first influencer. With the signing of Rafael “JAPA” Nakata Tamashiro we increase our reach by adding thousands of followers to the pack.
What was the result of this you ask? Our reach for April is up by 207.54% compared to March!!
In what most would say was a bonkers month we had more than 100 official matches and the strain on our players was crazy (thank you TO’s for stacking everything), but amazing things came from it!!
Our CS:GO team has been on fire for some time already, but April was something else! 36 officials on HLTV, including a 18 match win streak! Not to mention the fact that we became Champions of Elisa Invitational! 😉 Oh, remember when we cheered for reaching rank #34 in the World in March? We finished April sitting comfortably at #23 IN THE WORLD!!
In PUBG the boys continued their impressive form from March and with that they secured their spot in the grand final of this years first A-Tier tournament! This tournament was seriously stacked, and all the teams put up a fight for the first shot at PGC Points. We ended up taking a solid 8th place and with that the guys secured their first points towards the PUBG Global championship!!
Call of Duty Mobile is still new to us and it is growing on us all. The COD Mobile world championship was announced and with it came a set of rules. This means we had to change a player due to age restrictions and a window opened to get our hands on another player we had been looking at. We brought in 2 new players and now we have an active roster of 6 players while we wait for MTS to turn 18. 😉 This did not stop the guys and their grind. They won another tournament as they became the champions of Golden League and now all their focus has turned towards the World championship!
With the incredible growth we have had in SKADE it was finally time to expand our staff and April was a great month for us in terms of this. We landed 4 new dedicated staff members that will be putting their own flavor to how we operate on a day to day basis. Morten Skaland, Cornelius Hjort, Erlend Stålsett Nes and William Edvardsen are now a part of the pack! And guess what? We are still looking for more 😉
“Everything has been moving at an incredible speed lately and it can be hard to stop, breathe and enjoy all of this. I am fortunate enough to have surrounded me with people, staff and players that allow me to do this. Esports moves at a crazy speed and everyone involved need to be on top of their game. My job in this is to remind people of the amazing things we accomplish and remind people to breathe, enjoy and flow with this.” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes
We got off to a flying start with our Call of Duty Mobile team and have been performing at a high level in the Brazilian scene. However, with time comes change and as COD World Championships got announced this time has come.
There will be 2 changes to our active roster for now and with that we will be parting ways with Caio Almeida “Joker” Franca as he has found a new home. And Matheus “MTS” Braga will be our 6th player for now due to age restrictions in COD World Championships.
With this we would like to welcome our two new hunters, Igor “Fal” Falcão Bezerra and Leonardo “Leozin” Vieira Leão!! They have already started playing with the rest of the squad and can be seen live in plenty of tournaments coming up over the next few weeks. With the addition of these new players we hope to take our game to the next level and be fully prepared by the time World’s comes knocking!
Give them a warm welcome to the family!
Things are moving faster than ever before in esports and our activity in SKADE is no exception to that fact. It has been a vision of mine for some time now to come up with a monthly summary of our activity and now it is finally time to get started.
The idea is to have shorter reports, but March was eventful for us so ill try to keep things a bit short and sweet. However, we love having tons of stuff going on and packed months, so it is a luxury challenge.
Firstly, fan engagement is what esports is all about and we always strive to engage in new ways. With the limited staff we have it is extra important for us to be effective in our work. We started the March madness with the launch of the official SKADE App. For us this gives our fans a new way to keep track of all our activity, matches, social media and more in one simple app. Feel free to check it out here.
This impacts the most important thing we have as a team, our social media numbers. We have had a goal of growing our numbers naturally as we want our fans to engage with us and stay active rather than having a high % of “ghost” followers like many teams have. With this in mind March yielded growth in all our socials, bringing our reach up by 15.63% compared to February!
Rainbow 6 siege has been something we have been looking at for months now and in March we could finally reveal our line-up for Ubisoft’s Nordic Championship. We now field a team of players from all over Europe and hope to make an impact in the league. Exciting times to come for sure.
We started our journey in mobile esports at the start of the year, and CoD Mobile has been a revelation for us. All of a sudden, we were part of a super active community with passionate fans, tons of activity and highly motivated players. Our squad wrapped up March with 3 tournament wins and 4 runners up finishes! I can’t wait to get more involved with this scene!
Counter-Strike Global Offensive has been the flagship team of our brand from day one! In March we finally had the pleasure of announcing that our roster was once again complete as we signed Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov. This star player fits our profile perfectly as a young, hungry and super talented player. Even tho he has experience from the highest level, this young man is still only 20 years old and with that our teams average age comes in at only 19.9 years old!
Sounds risky? Not the way we see it! We are looking to become a top tier org in the long run and we want to have players that can stay with us on this journey. And I say we’re off to a GREAT start. March has been great to us as we have already won a tournament and qualified for 2 other big ones. More importantly we are now rank #34 in the world according to HLTV and we currently hold a 15 Strong win streak!!
“This ended up being a bit of a read, but every bit of it needed to be mentioned. April has started with a blast and there’s big things to come. Want to join us on our journey in any way, shape or form? Just want to talk about esports? Don’t hesitate with reaching out to me.” – Kim-Erik Aanes, CEO SKADE.
Esports moves at a great speed and as it develops we strive to keep up with it all. We are now taking another step towards the top and with that we proudly announce the signing of a Call of Duty Mobile roster!
For some time now we have been looking at different game titles and teams in the mobile scene, but our minds landed on COD and this amazing group of players from Brazil.
They will be bringing you guys a ton of action in the time to come and it will give us a new and fresh take on Instagram and Youtube that we have longed for.
“Me and my team are very glad for this, I will ensure that we give it all for SKADE and our story is just beginning…” – PABZERA, IGL
“This is another of our long planned moves towards reaching new grounds in esports. As we now pick up one of the strongest teams in South America’s COD scene we gain a new demographic. And it matches well with our soon to be announced updates as well. I’m ready to see what this amazing squad can bring to the table!” – Kim-Erik Aanes, CEO
So please join us in welcoming to the SKADE army this pack of wild berserkers ready to raid the world of CoD!!
