Elisa Invitational Champions

After a long fought week we are now the champions of the Elisa Invitational CS:GO tournament!

Everything was set for a weekend of wild action as soon as the teams were announced. With the likes of ENCE, HAVU, Nordavind and more the show was secured.

We had a bumpy start to the tournament with a opening loss to Nordavind. This was just a bump in the road tho, as we wiped HAVU out of the way and then secured our semi-final spot with a OT win against APEKS.

In the semi-finals we ran into the amazing talents of Young Ninjas and they gave us a bit of a scare by winning the first map. However the boys turned things around and closed the win out in the following 2 maps. And with that they secured their spot in the grand final and a shot at redemption aginst Nordavind.

As soon as the grand final started, it became clear that they guys were hungry! They ran into Overpass with zero fear and secured the map with a comfortable 16 – 7 score. We then moved on to Inferno where Nordavind came in with a much more scary gameplan. It was a true slugfest battle going back and forth, but in a 3rd overtime our guys closed it out!

A 2 – 0 was secured and the guys have been crowned the champions of Elisa Invitational Spring 2021!!

Duplicate with an amazing clutch moment!

“Once again the guys show what they are made of and what people can expect from them in the time to come. I have started running out of superlatives for how much i respect and admire these guys, but now i know people are starting to notice their hard work and efforts on a global scale as well.”CEO, Kim-Erik “Zarotan” Aanes

“The team’s atmosphere and performance is extremely good and constantly improving day by day. This is not even the peak of what we can show the world. Anyone of the team can step up at any moment, if someone isn’t having a good game you can be sure that someone else will be destroying the enemy. Out of 26 bo3’s we have won 25, losing one to a strong mousesports side and we are starting to gain a lot more confidence as a team.”Blagoi “Oxygen” Dimitrov

SKADE March recap

Things are moving faster than ever before in esports and our activity in SKADE is no exception to that fact. It has been a vision of mine for some time now to come up with a monthly summary of our activity and now it is finally time to get started.

The idea is to have shorter reports, but March was eventful for us so ill try to keep things a bit short and sweet. However, we love having tons of stuff going on and packed months, so it is a luxury challenge.

Fan Engagement

Firstly, fan engagement is what esports is all about and we always strive to engage in new ways. With the limited staff we have it is extra important for us to be effective in our work. We started the March madness with the launch of the official SKADE App. For us this gives our fans a new way to keep track of all our activity, matches, social media and more in one simple app. Feel free to check it out here.

This impacts the most important thing we have as a team, our social media numbers. We have had a goal of growing our numbers naturally as we want our fans to engage with us and stay active rather than having a high % of “ghost” followers like many teams have. With this in mind March yielded growth in all our socials, bringing our reach up by 15.63% compared to February!

Esports

Rainbow 6 siege has been something we have been looking at for months now and in March we could finally reveal our line-up for Ubisoft’s Nordic Championship. We now field a team of players from all over Europe and hope to make an impact in the league. Exciting times to come for sure.

We started our journey in mobile esports at the start of the year, and CoD Mobile has been a revelation for us. All of a sudden, we were part of a super active community with passionate fans, tons of activity and highly motivated players. Our squad wrapped up March with 3 tournament wins and 4 runners up finishes! I can’t wait to get more involved with this scene!

Counter-Strike Global Offensive has been the flagship team of our brand from day one! In March we finally had the pleasure of announcing that our roster was once again complete as we signed Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov. This star player fits our profile perfectly as a young, hungry and super talented player. Even tho he has experience from the highest level, this young man is still only 20 years old and with that our teams average age comes in at only 19.9 years old!

Sounds risky? Not the way we see it! We are looking to become a top tier org in the long run and we want to have players that can stay with us on this journey. And I say we’re off to a GREAT start. March has been great to us as we have already won a tournament and qualified for 2 other big ones. More importantly we are now rank #34 in the world according to HLTV and we currently hold a 15 Strong win streak!!

“This ended up being a bit of a read, but every bit of it needed to be mentioned. April has started with a blast and there’s big things to come. Want to join us on our journey in any way, shape or form? Just want to talk about esports? Don’t hesitate with reaching out to me.” – Kim-Erik Aanes, CEO SKADE.

The Hunters Are Once Again Complete

We are happy to announce that the CS:GO squad is officially back to a full five man roster. After a longer period of trials, we have finally signed with Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov, and with that we have also extended the contracts of all our players.

With this you can all rest assured there will be tons of good times, moments of glory and matches filled to the brim with action and passion! We will continue to grind things out in the Snow Sweet Snow series while we try to qualify for everything that is available.

With the addition of SHiPZ we hope that his experience from the highest level of CS:GO will help take our talented young squad to the next level. It may sound strange as we were already the youngest squad overall in the main stages of Snow Sweet Snow #2 swiss, but this 20-year-old has tons of experience already.

“I am super happy that we were able to find a deal that both sides were happy with and we can finally announce SHiPZ as an official squad member. I am also super thrilled to have the rest of the squad renew their contracts with us. It has been a great ride so far and the time to come holds great things for these young guys.” – CEO, Kim-Erik Aanes

“I’m very excited to join SKADE and my motivation is at a high. I know all these players already and I know how good they are. I really believe we have everything we need to become a top team and we have set a goal of becoming a top #30 team in the next 6 months.” – Georgi “SHiPZ” Grigorov

The guys now have their eyes set on a goal and they are locked and loaded! Make sure you join their journey towards the top by following them and SKADE on all social media platforms so that you don’t miss a beat.

2020 with SKADE CS:GO

The hardest working and yet the most unfortunate team of 2020 in European CS:GO?

What a year this has been! Hard work, success, adversity and a stellar display of mental strength! 2020 has not been easy on anyone, but what a roller coaster ride it has been for our young squad.

After ending 2019 on a high with a breakthrough into the top 50 of the EU rankings; winning a couple of tournaments and impressing the scene despite just a few months of work. We got a rough start to the year as we learned that our biggest tournament win of 2019 was a straight up scam. Along with other teams we never got paid for our hard work and amazing run. In response to this our players showed us how mentally strong they were. Even when faced with the loss of a rather big amount of cash for them they decided to conquer new heights.

As early as February, we decided it was time to take things up a notch and brought in coach Nikolay “pNshr” Paunin! The decision start paying off immediately as our team took a spot in the top 2 of the European qualifiers for Flashpoint (Season 1)! The guys were flying high and ready to take their skills across the pond to fight for the highly coveted franchise spot. Only one thing was left to do, on a really short notice we had to get the visas to travel and compete in Los Angeles, USA. We teamed up with Flashpoint and FACEIT to make it happen and in what felt like a record time the paperwork got done, meetings were booked and all seemed ready. However, misfortune struck again as the US consulate worker misinterpreted one of the laws and declined our application. It turned out our boys had done everything correctly, but there simply was not enough time to get a new case worker and apply again. We had to pass on an opportunity of a lifetime due to a human error.

Once again, we were on a roll. Climbing ranks and things were looking good. However, over the next couple of months something felt off. Within the team, progress was not up to their own expectations and we ran into a bad streak of matches just barely saving our spot in MDL while dropping out early in a couple of tournaments. It was time for a change and new input. In June, we parted ways with Ivan “Rock1nG” Stratiev and Kostadin “rafftu” Turbinov and in came Blagoi “Oxygen” Dimitrov and Viktor “Duplicate” Mitev and a much-needed summer break was planned.

As the summer break came to an end the guys came out all guns blazing and had their eyes set on getting back to the record ranks, we had before the summer. They had deep run-ins at almost all the big qualifiers, crushed their way in MDL and showed solid performances in online tournaments. Once again, we were climbing fast, kicking ass and taking names. With a rank of #40 in the world and #20 in EU the boys were on fire! But then shit hits the fan, again! ESIC announces their first findings in the “coach bug abuse case” and together with our coach Nikolay “pNshr” Paunin we had already reported this bug in one of our matches. His case was a minor one as he simply had not seen, nor heard about the bug before and didn’t know what to do when it happened. The match it self had little to no impact as we still lost it, but ESIC handed our coach a 3 month ban and we accepted it.

This could have been the end of that story, but ESL decided to show that they were also serious about the ESIC report. They did however look for the lowest impact action while still showing their “strength” and as a result SKADE got hit hard. As the ONLY team we got punished with a ban from MDL as we “won our spot” in the previous season and they seized all winnings from teams who had been involved with the mentioned coaches.

Once again, the players of SKADE were faced with unreal disappointment and could almost not believe how much misfortune could hit them. This time around, things felt dark and as a manager I was worried for my players’ wellbeing. But once more they AMAZED me as they dug down again, brought their focus back and REFUSED to give in! They signed up for everything available and then some and put up a grind that was unmatched in the EU scene. SKADE ended the year with 363 official HLTV matches, more than anyone else in EU!

The guys closed out the year with a wild run that no one thought possible with all that had happened. Starting with a 2nd place finish at Bellum Gens Elite – Stara Zagora, they took back-to-back-to-back tournament wins!! Banking in cyberPRO Series #2, OGA Counter PIT Season 6 AND ESEA Cash Cup – Europe. I think it is safe to say that most people who have followed the team were shook and amazed.

Working with these guys have certainly been a roller coaster of emotions ranging from frustration to the purest forms of joy! In just one year we have experienced more action and fun then most teams get in years. As we have now started a new year with new challenges and dreams, we hope to see more good fortune for the boys. 2021 will be a HUGE year for SKADE and I am sure it will be just as much of a joyride as 2020 was. I want to give praise to our players and staff for enduring what we have been through so far and I can’t wait to continue this ride.

A special thanks goes out to the fantastic players I have had the joy of working with over the past year. They have shown what it means to get back up after getting knocked down. Thank you!!

Thank you, Spellan!

Today marks a day of change for SKADE’s CS:GO roster.  We have had a fantastic journey with our lineup so far and Teodor “SPELLAN” Nikolov has been a big part of it.

In a scene where changes are part of the game to keep everyone sharp. The turn has now come to our captain. He has been a part of reaching top 30 EU twice in this team and won several tournaments. So with a heavy heart we now part ways.

The time has come for SKADE to make new moves towards our goals. And as we part ways with SPELLAN, a new captain will shape up in the form of Alex “Rainwaker” Petrov. It will be one heck of a challenge for our young superstar, but the one he craves for.

“Working with Teodor has been a great experience from day one. He came into a team that really needed a leader, and he stepped up to the plate. We have had ups and downs together, but he has shown that he can always bounce back. This feature is why I feel confident that he will find a new home fast and reach his goals.” – Kim-Erik Aanes, CEO.

We wish SPELLAN all the best in his future endevours. And we will surely face him at the highest level soon!

cyberPRO Champions

Today marked a big day for us as we came out victorious in the cyberPRO Series #2!! And not only that, we had a perfect run!

This year has been a strange one for us in many ways and we have had our fair share of bad luck. That makes this win all the more important to the boys, as they finally got to show their full potential.

We started the tournament taking down lvlUP esports and Golden Knights gaming in the group stages and thus securing a good seed going into the playoffs.

The playoffs had some serious names listed and in our run we had to take down NAVI-Junior, Team Singularity and finally Lyngby Vikings.

With tons and tons of tournaments to come we are glad to see that the boys are hungry and ready to fight! We are excited to see what’s to come!

Bellum Gens Elite – Stara Zagora

This week we had the pleasure of attending our first LAN event after the covid outbreak. With 4 other invited teams and 5 teams that made it past the open qualifiers, we were ready to battle it out over the weekend.

We got a bumpy start as we ran into an unexpected loss in the first match of the group stages to MBAPPEEK. However we picked things up again and after a run in the lower brackets we got to the playoffs.

Here we faced our Bulgarian rivals FATE for the semi-finals! It ended up in a BO3 slugfest where we came out on top 2 – 1 in the end. This was an important battle for us and one of the highlights of the year.

In the grand final we once again came up against our round 1 opponents in MBAPPEEK. Once again the audience got to witness an amazing series of games! In the firs map of the series, we needed 4 overtimes to conclude it. MBAPPEEK came out victorious in that one, but we bounced back with a win on map 2 of the series. The 3rd map of the series was another hard fought map, but in  the end MBAPPEEK closed it out.

We came out in 2nd place of the tournaments and with that landed one of our strongest results of the year! With the result the boys also took home $2.500 and a great performance! We cant wait to see what comes up next.

Thank You SKADE Female

Since the beginning of our entry into esports, we have been committed to the community of CS:GO. When we created SKADE, we knew that CSGO Female would figure in our plans as there was a lot of community buzz and tournament support. kezziwOw, Hedje, ZAna-th, Flutura and Psycho have shown great resilience and passion when representing SKADE as a brand and a team in the EU esports community. We are indebted to their competitive spirit and the way in which they always professionally conducted themselves during their time here.

“Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus pandemic the female esports scene was hit real hard as partners and sponsors backed out due to a lack of events. Making it really hard for organizations to sustain lineups during this time. Which lead to our working relationship with the female roster to an end. From everyone at SKADE – I would like to thank the SKADE Female players for all their constant hard work and effort. We wish them the best of luck for their future!”
– Kim-Erik Aanes (CEO)
